Soffit & Fascia
The soffit and fascia are very important parts of your home. They keep out unwanted animals from your attic, but must importantly the soffit allows for proper ventilation, especially in your attic. Aluminum soffit includes built in vents which allow air to flow more freely into your attic. This helps to reduce energy costs by keeping your attic cooler in summer and preventing ice dams in winter. This will reduce your chances of unwanted mold growth in your attic and on the plus side they will not corrode and are essentially maintenance free, as they do not require painting.
The following are signs to look for that would indicate the need for a soffit or fascia repair or replacement: sagging wood, rotting wood, and leaking eavestrough.
The fascia is a vertical finishing edge connected to the ends of the rafters, trusses, and the area where the gutter is attached to the roof. It is made of wood and over time if left unprotected can become damaged and rot. Covering your fascia with aluminum prevents damage from the weather and allows your fascia to be maintenance free.
